HEY UX DESIGNERS, PROGRAMMERS ARE CREATIVES TOO

Let me Preface this by saying I believe lack of communication is the reason companies lose time and money. It’s the reason Managment are just bosses and not inspiring leaders, and it’s the reason employees lose morale and end up leaving.

So it seems to be a notorious given that the Design Team and the Programming Team at any company will have huge gaps in their communication. No it isn’t because one set are binary thinkers without imagination and are robotic creatures that don’t speak human.

It comes down to a few things that are causing misscommunicatio. EGO, being a huge factor, ironically lack of empathy, lack of willingness to make efforts to try and understand other peoples communication methods. Instead of getting annoyed when a programmer is speaking jargon at you that you don”t understand think of it this way :

Well I have no idea what they just said but they trust I have the intelligence and capacity to understand it, perhaps I should make more of an effort.
