Saying “design is not art” is misguided

Why Do people so angerly Proclaim “DESIGN IS NOT ART” I always say to myself when I read these types of posts “does this person NOT know there is no Authority on Art. There is no Elon Musk of the fine art world Tweeting and telling you to buy Rembrants. There are no rules here art is…Anarchy. Some think that Nothing is art. While Others beleive art is everything. To some art is an act of living in a way free of societal norms. So no there is no CEO of what is and is not art. I have heard Designers Say “Design is not Art because Design Has a Purpose.”

I guess some designers can’t see that art is a three dimensional reflection of the time and context it was made. It is important to remember if rothko had painted this today, No one would have noticed:

The Reason For Its importance is Because of when it was Painted. Historically speaking the camera did more than just give teenage girls the ability to play into their vanity. It releases artists of the burdean of constantly painting in representation.

This Is when artists like the Abstract expressionists started throwing paint around the canvas and going a little crazy. as they were released from the jail of Portraiture.
