Rants About Tech and Life

There are important skills gaps missing in a lot of tech workers knowledge.

For the sake of this article we will focus on the profession of designer.

It’s not your fault or anyone’s fault really design school 4 year accredited colleges and bootcamps alike usually do not educate their graduates on any sort of business or economic knowledge. They do not educate designers on Human Resources or capital.

Or how to spot market shifts as things ebb and flow.

As one bubble bursts. What’s just marketing and what’s actually real change

I spoke to a friend of mine that is a high school teacher. He told me that his school district got students ready and remote within one week during the Covid pandemic.

We all know how limited the resources teachers and public school districts have yet he said “we had every kid with a computer webcam and WiFi ready for remote learning in one week and no one gives us credit for that.”

He is absolutely fucking right. Intrenched in the tech and business world in the meantime many of us where met with furloughs and then we were stalked by recruiters for the next couple of years until layoffs happened. And then the roller coaster started all over again and it’s still going
